Ronaldinho first Interview since his arrest in Paraguay



Ronaldinho maintains his innocence while giving his first interview since being arrested in Paraguay for possession of a false passport, admitting he ‘never thought’ he would get through ‘such a difficult situation’.

It would be recalled that 40-year-old Ronaldinho has been placed under house arrest after being picked up alongside his brother by authorities for using false documentations in the form of fake passports. He first opened up about his ordeal in Paraguay after being arrested for entering the country with a false passport. He is under investigation and is under house arrest at the Palmaroga hotel in the capital of Asuncion after originally spending 32 days in prison.
However, Ronaldinho’s lawyers maintain their client’s innocence and emphasize that he received the passport as a gift from a local sponsor.
In an interview with national television channel ABC color, he revealed his shock at the situation he is facing.
“We were completely surprised to learn that the documents were not legal,” he said. “Since then, our intention has been to work with the judiciary to clarify the facts.

From then until today, we have explained and facilitated everything that has been asked of us.
“It was a hard blow, I never thought I would experience such a situation. All my life I have tried to reach the highest professional level and bring joy to my football”. 

He further said that the first he will do is to give a big kiss to my mom who has been through these difficult days since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic at her home” afterwards continue with confidence and strength.
