Local: Two children in Enugu test positive for coronavirus

Two children in Enugu were found positive for the COVID-19 virus, confirmed on Saturday night by the State Ministry of Health.

The two children are part of the state's four new COVID-19 incidents, as announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC)

The State Health Commissioner, Dr. Ikechukwu Obi, announced this in a statement on Saturday night, shortly after the NCDC announcement, adding that the four new cases involved two adults and two children.

Obi said: "These new cases are two adults and two children from Bauchi State living in Enugu. They traveled with the case identified as the 3rd positive case in Enugu to Jos, Plateau State. This takes the number of positive cases to 8 with 6 active cases ever registered in Enugu.

However, the health commissioner appealed to Enugu State residents to continue following all the safety measures recommended by the NCDC.
