This comes after US Vice President Mike Pence cautioned Pelosi in a letter about the attempt to impeach President Donald Trump, adding, "I don't think such a course of action is in our nation's best interest or in accordance with our Constitution."

The Vice President cautioned that the move would do American citizens more harm than good, but Pelosi insisted that Democratic lawmakers should "take action."

Pelosi said on Monday that House Democrats "will move forward with bringing impeachment legislation to the floor," as a "next step."
