House in Hampshire partially destroyed after being hit by lightning in Andover
The fire department said a house in Hampshire was partially destroyed after being struck by lightning in Andover.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service (HIOWFRS) stated that the roof of a two-story building in Andover was destroyed by a thunderstorm.
Smoke was photographed from a townhouse on Mercia Avenue. Firefighters urged people to avoid the area. It is unclear if anyone was injured in the incident.
Yellow thunderstorm advisories will be issued across the entire South Coast until midnight Sunday.
Most of England and Wales experienced a week of extremely high temperatures, with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit).
