JUST IN: Man burned to death in Jigawa on witchcraft accusation

Spoksman of the Police command, Jigawa State, SP Abdu Jinjiri has confirmed the killing of Isah Umara of Baturiya Village in Kirikasamma Local Government Area of the state. He said the victim was burnt to ashes for allegedly bewitching a boy in the same village.

According to him, the Police in Kirikasamma Local Government Area received a call that one Amadu, alias Officer of Baturiya village ganged up with his friends and attacked one Isah Umara of the same village, accusing him of bewitching his son.

Police rushed to the scene on receiving the call to rescue the man under attack. Upon arrival, we found that the victim in a shop where he was hiding from the attackers was burnt to ashes, and the attackers took to their heels.

Jinjiri said the police were taking the burnt body to the hospital where he had been confirmed dead.

He noted that police succeeded in arresting three of the suspects and the case is under investigation.
