Local: NCDC discovers 3 new symptoms/signs of Covid-19



It is worth remembering that Covid-19 can spread asymptomatically, meaning that a certain percentage of the population carries the virus without knowing.

The news comes after a number of health practitioners noticed a strange new sign that patients could be carrying the coronavirus without symptoms — mysterious blue or red discoloration in toes and sometimes fingers."

COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. Most infected people will develop mild to moderate symptoms such as fever, tiredness, dry cough while some some people may experience, aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, diarrhoea.

The newly discovered symptoms of COVID-19 includes; chills, repeated Shaking With Chill and Loss Of Smell Or Taste

According to the NCDC, these symptoms "may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus."

"The NCDC also noted that you should seek medical attention if you're experiencing emergency warning signs for COVID-19, including trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion or inability to arouse, or bluish lips or face."

NCDC warned that the list isn't "all inclusive," and that you should "consult your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning to you. Also pay more attention to yourself and the people around you.
