Local: President Buhari approves procurement of Madagascar herbal syrup for COVID-19 remedy

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mustapha during the daily briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 on Monday publicized that President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the presidential task force on COVID-19 to procure Covid-Organics, Madagascar Herbal Syrup “remedy” for COVID-19.

Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, confirmed the developments during the briefing conducted in the conference hall of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

The SGF reported that President Muhammadu Buhari had issued a go-ahead for the trial of herbal remedies for potential use in the treatment of COVID-19 in the region.

Mr. President has provided orders for the airlifting of the Madagascar COVID-19 Syrup by Nigeria, said Mustapha, adding that Buhari has also sent specific instructions that it must be subject to the normal testing procedure for pharmaceuticals. There will be no exceptions to this.

The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, also confirmed the development during the briefing that was held at the conference hall of the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
