Local: Wike announces temporary lifting of lockdown

The governor of the Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, has declared the partial lifting of the complete lockdown of Obio/Akpor and Port Harcourt Local Government Areas for just two days.

Governor Wike made the announcement on a state-wide broadcast on Sunday night. He said that the total lockdown will be lifted on Tuesday 12th May, 2020 and Wednesday, 13th May, 2020.

Wike said the lockdown would be restored on Thursday, May 14, 2020. He added that all other limits under the Executive Order on social distancing were also in place.
