Gov Yahaya Bello says he doesn't have the power to postpone APC primaries - Ondo Political Gist

Ondo State All Progressive Congress (APC) Governorship Primary Election Committee Chairman, Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, has insisted he has no power to postpone Monday's primaries.

They posited that “holding the primaries on Monday is an injustice of the highest order.”

Governor Bello pointedly told them in a Sunday meeting with the aspirants that this was not possible. Ten out of the 12 aspirants to governorship attended the meeting in Ijapo, Akure and the capital of the state.

The six aspirants wanted the election to be postponed because the list of delegates who will take part in the primaries had not been given.

Isaac Kekemeke, Sola Iji, Olayide Adelami, Bukola Adetola, Olusola Oke and Jumoke Anifowose are among the aspirants that called for the postponement.

In response Bello said: "I have no power to postpone the (today) primaries of Monday. We'll carry on with the exercise.

"There is no perfect choice anywhere, even in advanced countries like the U.S. "
