Pakistan to cooperate with Huawei to train officials on digitalization of government organizations

According to a statement released by the president's office on Monday, Pakistani government will work with Chinese tech giant Huawei to train over 1,000 officials to help government organizations digitalize, improving work efficiency and service delivery. 


On Monday, Pakistani President Arif Alvi met with a delegation from Huawei led by Li Xiangyu, the company's vice president for the Middle East region.

According to the statement, Alvi requested that the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication develop an action plan and set timelines for launching training programs for government employees in fields such as artificial intelligence, cloud technology, and big data.


The Pakistani president urged the ministry to come up with innovative ideas and enhance collaboration with Huawei for early realization of the Digital Pakistan initiative, it added.
