Local News: 21 killed by Gunmen Kaduna village crises

21 people were killed, while 28 were injured by gunmen on the Sunday night in the Kukoum Daji Village in Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

The President of the Community Development Association, Mr. Yashen Titus, stated that while the State Police Command is still to confirm the case, on Sunday evening around 10:35 a.m., the weapons suspected of being herdsmen invaded the venue of a wedding party at the community.

Titus, who had told the presumed herdmen that the people who attended this party had been fired, said 19 people were killed on the spot whereas two more were killed at the hospital later. According to him, the other injured people were taken to the Teaching Hospital in Barau Dikko and to other clinics for treatment in the state capital.

At exactly 10:35 the attackers stormed the village, heavily armed and sporadically started shooting at the villagers. After the wedding ceremony they shot people celebrating at a party. We had heavily armed attackers Instantly 19 people died from gunshots. 32 Other people who suffered various injuries were hurried to hospitals, but unfortunately two of them died in hospital.

Some of the villagers are still missing as I speak and we don't know their whereabouts or their position. We can not even search the bush deeply, because security agents have not yet been deployed to the community,

Mr. Titus replied. Kaduna experienced a series of attacks two weeks ago, with a recent one. On 7 July, no fewer than 38 people lost their lives in separate attacks on two villages in Kaduna State's Sanga Local Government Area.

The chairman of the council, Emmanuel Adamu, who confirmed the attack, said the gunmen unleashed mayhem at Ankpon Village in Nandu and Kabamu Village in Fadan Karshi, Numana District as a whole. While describing the incident as unfortunate, he said 38 persons including women and children were killed by the gunmen.
