Pandemonium at the Armed Forces Remembrance Day: The pigeons will at least not be attacked for their effective civic disobedience says Oby Ezekwesili
There was a serious pandemonium earlier today during the armed forces remembrance day celebration in Abuja. As seen in a video posted by channels TV, president Buhari was seen trying to release the doves, which many people know it as "white pigeon" and they refused to fly. The president made several attempts and nothing changed.
However, this unthinkable event has since caused a stir on twitter as a former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, reacted to the report and her followers are also talking about it as well.
According to the report, the President in an attempt had opened the birdcage where those pigeons were kept at the National Arcade. He repeatedly picked one of it, thrown it into the air but the bird refused to fly.
The president in another attempt, opened the cage, send all of them out yet the birds still didn't fly. This was embarrassing as the president was eager to see the birds fly as usual in events like this.
As a matter of fact, Punch made it clear that as soon as the president left the cage to have his seat, some of the birds flew.
That incident also caused a stir on social media and people were saying it's a sign that "God was not with Johnathan," Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka reportedly said.
Having said that, let's take a look at what the former minister said that got people talking about it in her tweet. She was quoted saying "The pigeons will at least not be attacked for their effective civic disobedience".
"They will also not be told by scoundrels of patriotism to relocate just because they pointed out evident facts of Bad Governance in their country. Thank God for small mercies."
