Federal Polytechnic Oko Management amidst the Strike held the last test-running of the SUG E-Voting Mode of Election and encourages the Students to adopt the electronic voting.
The SUG Election Mode Saga which has been going on for many Weeks after the disruption of the 27th March Open Ballot Election has ended today being the 15th of April, 2021 after a consensus was reached between the Students Union Government Aspirants and the Management in the presence of the NANS Senate led by Comr. Chuks Okafor and NAND JCC Anambra Zone.
The Final Meeting which was held yesterday at the Polytechnic Lecture Theatre Hall was filled with The SUG Executives and other arms, SUG Aspirants, SIEC Members, NANS Senate, NANS JCC Anambra Zone and the Polytechnic Management as they Unanimously agreed to adopt the E-Voting mode of Election which will commence very Soon.
Donnie Saico Media gathered that Eleven out of the 17 SUG Candidates voted for the Continuity of the E-Voting mode of Election.
Speaking at the Event, The Senate President of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Comr. Chuks Okafor highlighted that this is an information age and Students should be Technologically Wise, "as an IT Graduate from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), I have witnessed this Kind of Election in many occasion and I have learnt the need for Students to be technologically inclined, Having witnessed the workings of the E-Voting System in this hall, I crave your indulgence to harmoniously accept this mode of election as all is in the benefit of the students".
Some of the Effects of the Electronic Voting mode of Election was raised which among them includes, students Voting Multiple times with same devices, Students not having Device (Android) to vote and many others.

Reacting to the comments of the SUG Candidates, The IT Instructor divulged that there are ways to tackle the issues, which among them includes Not allowing One devices to be used to vote two or more times through the introduction of IP Address Monitoring, To if needful allow students to use the School Computer Based Test Rooms and to ensure that the Aspirants Monitors the Election processes through the Control Rooms, Viz a vis.
The Director of Students Affair, Mr. Chioma Nwankwo assured the Aspirants and students that all the shortcomings in the E-Voting mode of Election will be Taken care of, such as helping to educate the students/voters possibly through their smart phones and so on.
The Chief Security Officer of the Polytechnic appreciated the NANS Team for coming and further emphasized the need of ATANI campus voting for President and Vice President of the Main Campus and Reassured that the Votes gotten there still stands valid regardless of the mode of election.
Comr. Rosemary Onyekachi Edeh (Godmother) led the closing prayer as the Aspirants were all enjoined to take the message back to their supporters.
