Another attack by unkwown gunmen, Obosi police station set on fire, two officers killed in Anambra

Unknown gunmen attacked and razed the Divisional Police Station in Obosi, Idemili North of the state, killing two of its personnel, according to police in Anambra.


According to the Nigerian News Agency, the attackers moved to the quarters after burning down the station, where they killed the two personnel in the early hours of Thursday.


DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the command’s Public Relations Officer in the state, confirmed the attack to NAN on Thursday.

Mr. Chris Owolabi, the state's Commissioner of Police had dispatched a tactical team to assess the incident on the spot, said Ikenga.

“The team was equally told to possibly identify and apprehend the hoodlums that perpetrated the attack,” he said.


The bodies of the two police officers had been deposited at a nearby morgue, according to Ikenga, who added that an investigation into the matter had begun.


According to NAN, the police attack in Obosi was the first since Owolabi took over from the previous CP, Mr Monday Kuryas.
