UNIBEN final year student shot dead by unknown gunmen after writing last exam

Unidentified gunmen shot and killed a final-year student at the University of Benin (UNIBEN).

Gunmen stormed Augustine Izu's compound in Ugbowo, Edo State, on Tuesday evening, June 29, 2021, just hours after his final paper and signing out.

While the Political Science student died instantly after being shot by the mask-wearing gunman, his friend Walter Emeka was shot in the arm but survived. Emeka is claimed to be improving as a result of his treatment.
