Former Manchester United, Rio Ferdinand reveals what Lukaku told me before leaving Inter for Chelsea

Rio Ferdinand, a former Manchester United center-back, has said that Romelu Lukaku told him he was "hungry" before joining Chelsea from Inter Milan.

After completing the first stage of his physical in Milan on Monday, Lukaku flew to London to finalize his £97.5 million moves to Chelsea from Inter.

Speaking on the development, Ferdinand said on the LIVE YouTube channel: “I have spoken to him [Romelu Lukaku] recently and he’s a hungry man.

“He has not confirmed to me that he is signing for Chelsea, but he just said this season, he is hungry.

“I just think this guy, a lot of greatness comes through having fuel, and what I mean by that is having doubters and wanting to prove them wrong.

“He has got a whole stadium full at Manchester United who doubted him, all the fan base at Old Trafford doubted him. A lot of people were not too dissatisfied when he left.

“He will be sitting there and looking in the diary to see when that Old Trafford game is and he will want to unload.”
