Emma Mckeon of Australia claimed the gold medal in the women's 50-meter freestyle on Sunday, the last day for swimming events at Tokyo Olympics.

The 27-year-old Australian clocked 23:81 in the final to break the Olympic record, ahead of Sarah Sjoestroem of Sweden (24:07) and Pernille Blume of Denmark (24:21).

China's Wu Qingfeng touched in 24:32 to finish fifth in the final.

In the women's 4X100m medley relay final, Australia won the gold medal in a time of 3:51.60.

Team USA (3:51.73) and Team Canada (3:52.60) took the silver and bronze medals respectively. Team China finished fourth in 3:54.13.

American Caeleb Dressel swam to victory in the men's 50m freestyle final on Sunday. He touched in 21:07, ahead of silver-medalist Florent Manaudou of France (21:55) and bronze-medalist Bruno Fratus of Brazil (21:57).

In the men's 4X100m medley relay final, Dressel swam again with his American teammates Michael Andrew, Ryan Murphy and Zach Apple, who together won the event with a new world record of 3:26.78.

Briton took the silver medal in 3:27.51, a European record, ahead of Italy who placed third in 3:29.71.
