Yam Porridge which is also known
as Yam pottage is a very delicious Yam recipe. Yam Porridge can also be
referred to as yam soup. It is mainly yam cooked with ingredients and the
resulting dish contains some soupy liquid.
Ingredients
1/2 white puna yam
1 Onion medium sized
1 tablespoons Pepper
2 Tablespoons Crayfish
Salt to taste
Dry fish
1/2 Cup Palm Oil of fresh
Fresh green vegetable
Water
Steps
Step 1: Peel and
cut the Yam into medium sized chunks and rinse a couple of times
Step 2: Put the
Yams inside a Pot, add Water just to the level of the Yams and let it cook for
15 minutes on a medium to high heat
Step 3: Thoroughly
wash the dry fish and set aside
Step 4: Add Palm
Oil, Onions, Cray Fish, Salt and Stock Cubes and allow it to cook for an
additional 15 Minutes on a low Heat.
Step 5: Add the dry
fish
Step 6: Wash the
green vegetable then add it, stir and leave to stand for about 5 minutes then
serve.
